Gemma Ray gets acclaimed

Gemma Ray’s upcoming album, Island Fire, has been confidently gathering acclaim across the world as we gear up for its release.  Behold some choice nuggets:

“An album packed with Packed with thoughtful adventure and mischief. A true gem.” – MOJO (4/5 Stars)

“An evocative album with many highlights, that draws on surf-rock, Sixties girl-pop, gothic folk and dust-covered blues.” – Uncut (8/10)

“Blowing sugary femme-pop out of the water. Gemma Ray is untouchable.” – NME (8/10)

“It’s of the moment and a delight.” – Wall Street Journal

“Had Phil Spector forced his girl groups in a more noir-soundtrack direction, this might’ve been the result. Ray has a truly impressive feel for vintage pop flourishes, layered to lavish effect. And all those details are what you’re supposed to be paying attention to, right up until the blade hits your back.” – Spin

…and so on…

Remember, the album is due on such classic formats as the compact disc, the much more modern vinyl format (heavyweight & clear, no less) and the archaic digital format.  Go track it down online and in stores from April 16 in the UK and May 29 throughout the rest of the world.

The video for Rescue Me will premiere imminently.  Check back soon for more details.
