NEW JOE GIDEON & THE SHARK SINGLE

“You Don’t Look At A Tidal Wave, A Tidal Wave Looks At You”

b/w “Mr Dead & Mrs Free”

The long-awaited and delayed Joe Gideon & The Shark single  “You Don’t Look At A Tidal Wave, A Tidal Wave Looks At You” is now available to buy on 7″ and download. This beautiful, suspenseful and epic song tells the story of a man facing his insurmountable demons and his realization that some things are just too big to get around. Inspired by the death of the writer Spalding Gray in 2004, Joe Gideon and his sister The Shark chose to use nature as a metaphor, and appropriately use the tidal wave to paint their picture. However, time sometimes turns up some unfortunate coincidences. The recent events in Japan had led to a decision to postpone the release out of sensitivity to any persons affected directly or indirectly by the tragedy.

Despite this, the song is a call to stand tall, and so to delay the release indefinitely would be universally unjust from any point of view.

Fans have long been anticipating the release of this live favourite, and Bronze Rat Records proudly release it here it is in all its brooding majesty. The single is backed by Mr Dead & Mrs Free, a previously hidden gem from the siblings canon.

Joe Gideon & The Shark follow-up the release of their highly acclaimed debut Harum Scarum with a new album in late 2011. This release will  appease the void, and prove that Joe Gideon & The Shark are a musical force unlike any other.
